In 1Q22, total U.S. lottery sales decreased -8% y/y to $25.7 billion across the 46 U.S. jurisdictions we track in our report. Results were relatively flat on a sequential basis. This was the first period of annual lottery wager declines since the start of the pandemic in 1Q20. Instant Tickets sales decreased -3% y/y to $17.7 billion, showing the first glimpse of y/y decline we have ever recorded since tracking lottery sales on a quarterly basis in CY09.
